Scotland Road Trip Day 6 13/07/2015

Durness-Thurso

Safe to say the night in Durness was awful. The wind was howling, rattling our tent. We left the camp site around 8am, following the awful roads to Thurso. Mostly single track roads with passing places". We also came across a lot of road traffic, such as this duck:

Just outside Durness there was Smoo Cave. It was really cool! Since we were there so early, the tour wasn't open yet.

Inside smoo cave was this huge waterfall! It looked amazing. You could get a boat ride through the cave too.

We got to Thurso just before 12.30pm and checked into Sandra's backpackers. The guy was nice, and was telling us all the tourist places we could go see. He showed us to our private room, then came back in to sweep the floor. So strange. The place was pretty filthy.

We went to the most northerly point of the British Isles, Dunnet Head.

Also visited the Queen Mother's castle! We didn't go in. It was starting to close. We didn't realise they had a petting zoo too!
We then went to see John O' Groats. Basically classed as the start of Great Britain.

They had colourful houses along the seafront.

And sold Isle of Arran icecream! Yum!

We got back to the hostel around dinner time and had a chinese for our dinner!
