Granola Bar recipe
Peanut, chia seed, honey granola bar
Yoghurt dipped, freeze dried strawberry and orange, peanuts, chocolate chip, honey granola bar
The perfect snacks! They aren't sugar free, so don't get your hopes up. These are good as a snack, especially when you get super hungry and shaky like me! Instead of rushing to the store and buying a snickers bar, make your own. You can control how sweet you like it.
Peanut Chia Granola bar Ingredients:
2 cups oats
1/2 cup honey
4 tbsp butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup peanuts
1/4 cup chia seeds
1/2 tsp salt
Freeze Dried Fruit, Peanut Ingredients:
2 cups oats
1/2 cup honey
4 tbsp butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup peanuts
1/4 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup freeze dried fruit
Yoghurt Dip:
3 tbsp thick greek yoghurt
6 tbsp icing sugar
Method
1. Heat the butter, sugar, salt and honey in a pan until the butter and sugar have melted.
2. Mix the dry ingredients together
3. Pour the melted ingredients with the dry ingredients.
4. Shape into a tin, pushing down the sides. Make sure it's well compacted.
5. Leave to cool for an hour
6. Cut into your desired shape then dip it into the yogurt dip. Leave until set.
*The yogurt should be very thick. If it isn't, strain it using a cheese cloth or clean kitchen towel*
All the of the dry ingredients can be changed. You can also choose to bake these if you wish, to make them firmer. I baked the Peanut and chia seed bars for 20 minutes at 180 degrees. They firmed up better than the unbaked ones. However, the unbaked ones are nice and gooey.
Enjoy!
